Les Matchboxx se forment en 1996. Après un premier maxi 6 titres (Le Chemin de la Route) autoproduit en 1997. Ils invitent notamment le chanteur Dave à participer à leur premier album, Une Carrière en Plomb (Musisoft), sorti en 1999. À la fin de l'année 2003, David Courtin, Claire Deligny et Benoît Bonté décident de s'envoler vers de nouveaux horizons et de mettre un terme à cette aventure.
